Let’s face it, remodeling a home can be stressful, especially if the project is not managed properly. There are a lot of factors to consider. Design features, product selections, and code requirements, to name a few. Then the project begins and there is dust to contend with, hidden conditions arise, change orders come up, and schedule conflicts delay the completion date. Who would want to put themselves through a nightmare like that?
This is why we have developed our “Low-Stress” Building Process. Each of our finished projects is the result of a collaboration between you and our home remodeling team. Together we explore your vision for your new project – what your needs are, how you want your project to look, and how you will use your new space. Then we invest a considerable amount of time upfront in the planning phase of your project. This way, when we enter the production phase we eliminate the factors that typically cause stress during remodeling.
We feel the remodeling industry is about providing outstanding customer service. We’re in your home…in your personal space. Great communication, careful planning, and a commitment to excellence are key seeing this through. Here is how our “Low-Stress” Building Process Looks.
We want to learn as much about your project as possible prior to visiting your home. We will ask you a variety of questions so that we can begin to learn what your wants, needs, and motivation are for your future remodel. We will also take a moment to explain our estimating process, which we have described for you in detail below.
After this we will record your contact information and schedule an appointment at your home to discuss your project in detail.
During our first consultation we will discuss various aspects pertaining to your project, such as: the room (or rooms) where updates will occur, scope of work to be estimated, your own thoughts and ideas, and how soon you would like to start. We will also take measurements and list site-specific details for estimating accuracy.
Then we will return to the office to assemble a detailed Good-Better-Best comparison for your project. This will give you a range of what your project can cost from high to low. Without having a completed design or knowing what selections you will make it is impossible to give an accurate price up front. So by using the Good-Better-Best comparison, we will be able to establish an investment amount that best meets your needs.
During our second consultation we will review the Good-Better-Best Comparison and establish your investment amount.
When you feel that you would like to move forward with the project we will require a commitment deposit. This let’s us know you are committed to moving forward with our company. This deposit is determined based on the size of your project and amount of design work involved. The commitment deposit will be applied towards your project total.
Again, design is a collaboration between you and us. We will pose questions that you might not have considered, such as: Will the new space be used for entertaining? How important is sustainability and energy efficiency to you? What types of updates will make your home more marketable for resale?
Perhaps your dream kitchen and your budget are out of sync. We will help you make them compatible.
For estimating accuracy, design is probably the most important part of the process. This can often take a considerable amount of time to finalize. We know how to make it go smoothly.
Once you've decided on a final design, we will craft a detailed proposal showing all the work, selections, and allowances.
We will also schedule appointments with our project manager and applicable trade contractors on site. This will help eliminate surprises and allow us to receive written estimates from mechanical and specialty contractors.
When the proposal meets your approval we will schedule an appointment for the contract signing, where we will set the start date and terms. Now you can sit back while we help make your dream come true.
After the contract has been finalized, we will provide you with an accurate project schedule so you will know what to expect each day during the construction process.
We will also keep you informed on a regular basis as to the progress of your project. We are always available to you in case of any last minute changes or ideas you may have.
So that's the low-stress building process. If you are interested in having us take a look at your project – give us a call or send us an email. We look forward to surprising you.
